Namasté...
And welcome to my home...

As you can see, I have just moved in and am still in process of setting up house. Some of the links that I have planned to provide for you may be inoperable at this time, but that's OK. I am here to meet you.

I know how much it discourages us here in the material plane to hear about rules, but there is one very simple rule that I must impose if you intend to visit:

Enter with Bare Feet and Open Heart

If you care to know why, I will answer briefly. If we are all barefoot, then we share the same ground; and if we speak from Heart to Heart, then there is no judgement or thievery... because there, we know...

My name is J, but you may have already met me by one of my other names, daerwydd, in MSN Chat. I was born and reared in Southwestern Pennsylvania and graduated from a small, rural High School in Washington County. Because of my nature to seek and explore, I have had wonderful opportunities and experiences (both positive and negative) which have taught me about who I am.

Back in 1992, while I was living in a military town in North Carolina, I underwent a tremendous spiritual awakening which began a vigorous pursuit of healing, whole-ing, and awareness. At that time, I transferred all my educational pursuits from language and literature to metaphysics and ancient medicines. I will not bore you with the details of my work. But please know that in the near future, there will be a link to the virtual version of my office where you can learn about my practice, certifications, and credentials. For now, I will share with you that I am a Shaman (Medicine Man and Barefoot Doctor are two commonly used terms). My role is to preserve and enhance natural, ancient/traditional, and modern modalities of medicine/healing and to teach these arts of wholeness and wellness.

At the time of this writing, I reside in Pittsburgh PA. This beautiful city is a tremendously powerful spiritual and medical hub. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) spans most of the hospitals west of State College PA. Our conventional medical system is, indeed, "cutting edge" when it comes to cardiac and transplantational care. Although I do admit that our wholistic and spiritual communities are quite shy, we are making vast strides, all the same. Healing systems like Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Homeopathy, and Acupuncture are now available at Shadyside Hospital--one of the city's most prestigious research facilities.

For the past 4 years, my practice has shared a beautiful long-term relationship with Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force (PATF) and Persad, two HIV organizations that service the Greater Pittsburgh Area. A number of my colleagues and I have provided entertainment and therapeutic services to these agencies in order to assist with fund raising events and the promotion of public awareness and education about AIDS and HIV. I offer my services and organizational skills to these agencies, free-of-charge so that the HIV+ individuals in this city can receive the type of love and care that they deserve. This arrangement has been a very rewarding experience, to date, and I plan to continue to provide these types of services for as long as I am able.

I live on a 300+ acre farm just outside of the city where my landlord and I plant, care for, and harvest medicinal herbs. We share this space with a small flock of sheep, 2 Shetland ponies, 2 dogs, 4 cats and a couple of goats. I have a weakness when it comes to injured and stray animals. They are my confirmation that I am doing the work that I am supposed to; they seek me out when they are not well, and go their own ways once they have healed. There is no greater compliment!

At this time, I am preparing to go to school (yet again!) in Florida. This time to Acupuncture and Herbology College. Since I have joined MSN Chat, I have made the acquaintence of many wonderful and loving personalities from the vicinity where I will be moving and I look forward to meeting them all when I arrive. I already feel like I'm walking into a warm and loving family embrace. And you know who you are!!

Just to give you a glimpse of the types of links I plan to make accessible for you....

Please know that I am taking my time to be absolutely sure that the information that I will be representing to you is accurate, concise, true, and of the best all-around quality. It is not that I am lazy, it's because All good things come in time...

Upcoming Tour Information...

Having achieved much happiness and fulfillment by living and working in the Greater Pittsburgh area, Sprowls is now engaging in a tour to promote awareness of these systems and services that he has provided, consistently, in his practice as an Oriental Bodywork Practitioner. Since 1996, Sprowls has expanded his scope of healing to include teaching many of his clientele how to mediate and to pull down the Universal Life Force healing energy. In essence, these techniques empower the student practititoner to perform self-healing and reconnect to the Spiritual Force that is within them--thereby achieving the Buddha/Shaman within. This abbreviated system combines techniques of Taoist yoga and mediation which, when coupled, recognize and harness the Univeral Life Force (qi) to be used for our own personal healing and transformation. Diligent practice of these and other advanced exercises have not only brought great solace, strength, and inner power to Sprowls, but also his clientele. The purpose of this tour is to demonstrate to the general public just how simple this level of awarenss is to achieve, and how impacting its presence can be in our lives.
